Copenhagen Fintech - Padel Tournament
“Your story is epic. Don't film it like it's ordinary.” Copenhagen Fintech wanted to remind the world (or at least the fintech industry) that serious companies can have fun too. As part of the marketing leading up to Nordic Fintech Week, they asked us to produce a promo to warm up the audience with humour, self-irony and 80s vibes.
The challenge
They wanted to promote their annual event and at the same time show that fintech doesn't have to be dusty. The budget was tight, and the timetable even tighter. The idea was to make an over-the-top commercial with one of their own staff in the lead role, dressed up as retro sports legend, complete with headband, tight shorts and polyester.
Our Approach
We went all-in. We did a quick pre-shoot at Tap1 and planned the filming, but without limiting the spontaneity. Music was predetermined before the auditions and we had selected a few tracks in advance that set the tone. In addition, we added animated titles and overlays in post-production.
Production
The set up took about one hour. We had about two hours with the main character and spent an extra half hour on quick takes with six others representing the participants in the padel tournament. The entire team from SpeakerBee contributed, with Irene in the lead as a shearer.
They delivered that.

The result
The customer was delighted. The audience received it well and we went directly to the next production together with Copenhagen Fintech. Exactly as it should be.
